The CJMCU 64-Bit 88 RGB LED Driver Development Board is a high-performance board featuring 64 WS2812 RGB LEDs arranged in an 8×8 matrix. Each LED can draw up to 60mA at peak brightness, resulting in a total current draw of approximately 3.5 Amps at 5 Volts. To ensure stable operation, a 5V 2A power supply is recommended, though typical usage will see a current draw of approximately 1-2A per panel.

 

The board includes two 3-pin connection ports for wiring. To operate, users should solder wires to the input port, supplying 5V DC to the +5V and ground pins. The DIN (data input) pin must be connected to a microcontroller, ensuring a common ground connection between the 5V power supply and the microcontroller/Arduino.

Additionally, multiple panels can be daisy-chained together. To connect a second panel, link its DIN pin to the DOUT pin of the first panel, ensure a common ground, and supply 5V power. It is important to note that when using four or more panels, an Arduino Uno may experience RAM limitations, and a 5V 10A power supply may be required for optimal performance.

 

Each LED strip is controlled via a single data line utilizing a precise timing protocol, necessitating a real-time microcontroller with a processing speed of 8MHz or higher (such as an AVR, Arduino, or PIC). The board features solder pads on the back for wire or breadboard pin connections, along with two mounting holes for secure attachment to various surfaces.
